Tor is best known for producing books, mostly science fiction. With Cory Doctorow's new novel, Makers, however, Tor is doing something a little different. The book is being released in installments, with a new section being released online every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning.
To illustrate the story, Tor commissioned Idiots' Books to create an image for each section (totaling 81 in all). The images fit together into a tile game that can be moved and still interconnect. As new sections have been published, Tor has slowly brought out new versions of the tile game, based on the number of squares available. Tor has just released the 5 x 5 version. You can still play the 2 x 2, 3 x 3 and 4 x 4 versions on the game's website — as well as save it to your desktop if you so choose.
